New Delhi: At a time when the entire country is buzzing about the demonetization decision by PM Modi and funny memes of Rs 500, 1,000 notes going viral, here comes another set of photos that has become the talking point in South India.

A photograph from Karnataka’s Kolar showed Bangarpet MLA and Congress leader SN Narayan Swamy, district panchayat member Mahesh and bank president Byalahalli Govinda Gowda distributing currency notes to people in a queue.










When local police made an inquiry into it, they found that the disbursing event happened on Monday, a day before Modi announced the currency ban. The bank had organized the event to help self-help groups by lending money through such a public programmes.

“The photograph went viral with a note saying that bank officials and politicians were giving away Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in an attempt to convert black money into white money after the Indian Government demonetized these currencies,” TheNewsMinute reported.
