Income Tax Raid: A picture of the Income Tax Department raid is going viral on social media. A picture of a cupboard filled with bundles of notes which had cash worth more than Rs 142 crore stuffed in it astonished the social media users on Monday.


The income tax department has claimed to unearth unaccounted money worth Rs. 550 crore and the viral image is of the same raid on a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical group.


In an official statement, the income tax department said the pharmaceutical group is indulged in the making of intermediates, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), and formulations, reported ANI


A picture from this raid is going viral all over social media, especially the microblogging site Twitter where people are gushing this image of the cupboard full of cash. A Twitter user named Gabbar Singh tweeted saying "This was revealed by the Income Tax Department's raid on a pharmaceutical company in Hyderabad Seeing this, I think they must have kept clothes in the locker."



Users also tried to estimate the exact figure of the amount and are surprised at the pharmaceutical company's wealth. Reacting to the post, one user wrote, "Surprisingly how a pharmaceutical company managed to make a large amount of cash."






The Income Tax Department further said in a statement that most of the company's products are exported to the United States of America, Europe, Dubai, and African countries. Although it did not disclose the name of the pharmaceutical group, media reports suggest that the raid was carried out at Hetero Drugs. Hetero Drugs is the first pharmaceutical company to launch the generic version of Remdesivir Injection in India.
