Mumbai: An unfortunate incident took place in Maharashtra on Saturday during a protest by the Congress workers against the hike in fuel price in Mumbai. The protest came to an abrupt end after a bullock cart over loaded with Congressmen collapsed in the middle of the road in Mumbai. 


A video of the unfortunate incident has emerged showing Mumbai Congress chief Bhai Jagtap and several party workers staging demonstration over the hike in prices of petrol and diesel in the financial city. 


A bullock cart that was used to stage the demonstration by a dozen Congress workers collapsed abruptly. Congress chief and other supporters can be seen collapsing amid the sloganeering against the fuel price hike. 



The incident comes in the backdrop of sky-rocketing prices of petrol and diesel. Fuel prices across the nation have seen a spike once again on Saturday. Petrol rates crossed the Rs 100-a-litre mark in four metro cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. 


As per the latest update, the state-run oil companies have pushed the price of petrol upwards once more by 30 to 30 paise on July 10.  In Delhi, the petrol is retailing at Rs 100.91 per litre while in Mumbai, the fuel rate is currently Rs 106.93 per litre.
