Today Petrol-Diesel Prices: According to the latest update from the Indian petroleum marketing company, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), petrol-diesel prices across the country have been stable since Diwali. Looking at the latest figures, the most expensive petrol and diesel in the country is in Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, while the cheapest petrol and diesel are available in Port Blair.
The price of crude oil in the international market may have reached $83 a barrel, but there has been no change in fuel prices in the Indian market. According to statistics, petrol and diesel are about Rs 33 cheaper in Port Blair than in Sri Ganganagar.
Latest fuel prices:
The latest data shows that petrol is sold at Rs 82.96 per litre in Port Blair on Saturday, November 13. The price of diesel is Rs 77.13 per litre. According to the latest update from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), petrol is priced at Rs 103.97 while diesel is selling at Rs 86.67 per litre in the capital Delhi on November 13.
In the country's economic capital Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 109.98 while diesel costs Rs 94.14 per litre. In a bid to provide relief to the people from inflation, the Central Government on November 03 reduced excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and on diesel by Rs 10 per litre.
Modi Government's decision:
Following the Modi government's decision, 23 states in the country have also reduced VAT. States who provided relief from high prices of petrol and diesel include Punjab, Karnataka, Puducherry, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya and Ladakh.
States who did not reduce VAT
However, there are some other states, which have decided not to reduce VAT. They include Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. The list also includes AAP ruled Delhi, Trinamool Congress ruling West Bengal, Left ruled Kerala, TRS ruled Telangana and YSR Congress ruling Andhra Pradesh.
