Petrol, diesel prices today: Amid the protest by the Opposition against the hike in the fuel prices in various parts of the country today, the prices of petrol and diesel once again shot up on Monday. The cost of petrol in Delhi reached to Rs 80.73 per litre, increased by Rs 0.23/litre than that from yesterday. While the diesel is now available at Rs 72.83 per litre in the national capital which is Rs 0.22 more than it cost per litre on Sunday.


Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the petrol has been increased by Rs 0.23 per litre. It is being sold at Rs 88.12 per litre today. Besides, diesel price in Mumbai has also gone up by Rs 0.23 per litre. The cost of Diesel in Mumbai today is Rs 77.32 per litre.

Holding the BJP government at the Centre as responsible for the rise in petrol and diesel prices, the Opposition parties are protesting today in various parts of the country.

A number of opposition parties have come together to protest the rise in fuel prices in India on Monday and participate in the 'Bharat Bandh' called by the Congress. While in view of the bandh call, Congress had urged party workers not to indulge in any violent protest.
