Parliament Winter Session: The Congress and the Samajwadi Party launched vocal animated protests demanding discussions on the Adani charges in the US and the Sambhal clashes on Day 1 of the session.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar rejected 18 notices submitted by Opposition MPs. "The Upper House needs to reflect and follow well-established traditions that ruling of the Chair requires reference and not cause differences. I have, in detail, given reasons why, in these situations, notices are not being accepted,” Dhankhar said while rejecting the notices under Rule 267 of the House," he said.
An important meeting is going on in the Rajya Sabha Chairman's chamber. Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Rajya Sabha Leader of the House JP Nadda and Arjun Meghwal are present in this meeting.
"Opposition did not disrupt the proceedings of the Parliament, we want discussion. Modi government has backtracked, as and when they hear the name of Adani, they run away, but why? What is the problem in having discussion on Adani? Is he the member of BJP?" Congress MP Randeep Surjewala said.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi reacted after Adani Green Energy refuted bribery charges against Gautam Adani and executives. "Do you think Adani is going to accept the charges? Obviously, he is going to deny the charges. The point is he has to be arrested. As we have said, hundreds of people are being arrested on tiny charges, the gentleman has been indicted in the United States for thousands of crores, he should be in jail. The government is protecting him," he said.
"People are talking about going to Sambhal, but Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav are able to see Bangladesh where atrocities are being done against the Hindus. I want to say to all the Hindus to protest against the atrocities in Bangladesh. There should be a law prohibiting proselytisation," says Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh.

Five new bills will be introduced in this session, which will run until December 20, while 11 other bills, including the Waqf (Amendment), have been listed for discussion.
