Lok Sabha passes the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021.. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while speaking in Lok Sabha on the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021, said, "keeping up the commitment of BJP that we don't believe in the retrospective application of tax, we are fulfilling that word by bringing this amendment."

Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates, Wednesday 06 August: Since the begining of the monsoon session of parliament, MP's of Opposition parties has continuously protested over the pegasus snooping scandal, Farm bills and other issues leading to constant disruptions in functioning of both the houses.
Even on Friday monring, Opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha streamed into the well of House over 'Pegasus Project' media report and raised slogans of 'Disclose Pegasus'. Hence, both, the upper house and lower house were adjourned till 12 noon.
Ahead of participating in the session proceedings today, leaders of 14 opposition parties met in Parliament house at 10 AM and decided to extend their support to the farmers' agitation and sit in solidarity with them. Several leaders will on Friday go to Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with farmers protesting against the contentious farm laws and participate in the 'Kisan Sansad'. Opposition leaders including Gandhi will participate in the Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar and support the farmers in their demand for repeal of farm laws, Kharge told reporters after the meeting.
