Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal responds to Opposition's demand for a discussion on Manipur:

He further said, "The opposition is changing its mind again and again. The government is ready to discuss Manipur. I request the opposition that this is a very sensitive issue and politics should not be done on it. It is also an issue related to respect for women."

Speaking after the all-party meeting, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said, "I have raised the issue in the all-party meeting that the House should run smoothly, and the opposition should not create a ruckus. Apart from this, I have raised the issue of atrocities on Dalits and women and promotion of SC, and ST and giving them reservations in the private sector."
After the all-party meeting, Indian Union Muslim League MP ET Mohammed Basheer told ANI, "There were strong protests against the Uniform Civil Code. I told the government that it is dangerous and it will disturb the harmony among the people in India. I also raised concerns about Manipur at the all-party meeting. I urged the government to intervene and solve the problem."
TMC MP Derek OBrien attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Manipur situation, saying he should speak on the issue in both Houses of Parliament.
The Centre on Wednesday said that it is ready to discuss the Manipur issue in the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Parliament. The decision was announced during an all-party meeting called by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government to discuss various matters for the Monsoon Session.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla chaired the meeting, which aimed to deliberate on a range of issues related to the session.
As many as 31 Bills, including the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, are likely to be taken up by the Centre for discussion during Parliament's monsoon session.

Parliament Monsoon Session Live: Hello and welcome to the live blog on Parliament's Monsoon Session.
The monsoon session of the Parliament began on July 20 and will continue till August 11. The session is crucial as the BJP and opposition have sharpened attacks on each other as they gear up for a host of assembly polls this year and the Lok Sabha elections next year. Meanwhile, the session witnessed a stormy start with the Manipur situation leading the course of discussion.
Centre's ordinance over control of services in Delhi is also likely to be the key issue of discussion apart from inflation and alleged misuse of investigative agencies.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA government at the Center on Wednesday convened an all-party meeting to discuss issues for the monsoon session of Parliament. According to PTI, the meeting aims to deliberate on a range of issues related to the session. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla chaired the meeting.
Notably, the all-party meeting is a customary get-together on the eve of a session's start as various parties put across their issues at the meeting attended by senior government ministers.
In the meeting, the government said that it is willing to discuss every issue permitted under the rules and approved by the Chair in Parliament's Monsoon Session.
The Centre has listed 31 proposals, including the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, for discussion in 17 sittings till the end of the monsoon session on August 11.
Representatives from various parties attended the all-party meeting including Jairam Ramesh, Pramod Tiwari from Congress, Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal), Ramgopal Yadav (Samajwadi Party), Thanmbi Durai (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), ST Hasan (SP), Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Rajnath Singh, AD Singh (Rashtriya Janata Dal), and NK Premchand (Revolutionary Socialist Party).
