A Delhi services ordinance will be taken up for discussion as the Parliament's Monsoon session begins on Thursday. The Centre has listed the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill among the 31 proposals that will be taken up for discussion in 17 sittings till the end of the monsoon session on August 11.


The Delhi Ordinance was a major roadblock in the formation of the united Opposition, with Delhi CM AAP demanding that Congress denounce the Centre's move to control administrative services in the Union Territory. However, the Congress finally relented and supported the AAP, along with other Opposition parties, in its demand.


The monsoon session is expected to be stormy with the BJP and opposition parties sharpening attacks on each other as they gear up for a host of assembly polls this year and the Lok Sabha elections next year. Manipur crisis and ordinance over control of services in Delhi are likely to be the key issues of discussion apart from inflation and alleged misuse of investigative agencies.
