On Suspension of Business Notices in Rajya Sabha given under Rule 267 by MPs, House Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, "I reiterate, leaders of political parties need to take a call on the issue, as it is becoming a routine daily affair in every sitting of the House. I had already indicated that in the last 36 years, this mechanism has been allowed only on six occasions. It is only in exceptional circumstances that the same may be allowed. I need not emphasise that seeking suspension of proceedings in the House for taking business as indicated is indeed a very serious matter. The notices filed today do not conform to the directives imparted by the Chair in this behalf and the same are not admitted."
"I had called farmer leaders here, permission was granted but they are not being allowed inside. India's farmers are not being allowed in Parliament in today's times, what to do? This is the issue. There may be a technical issue too, will see," says Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
Before the Opposition walked out of Rajya Sabha over 'discriminatory' Budget, LoP Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, "...Yeh kursi bachane ke liye yeh sab hua hai...We will condemn it and protest against it. All INDIA alliance parties will protest...How will development happen if there is no balance?..."
Delhi: AAP MP Raghav Chadha says, "Almost everyone is disappointed with this budget except two persons, Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu... All the economic reports conclude that income is not rising but the prices are rising in the country. The government has paralysed the investors of the nation... This budget has angered all sections of society... The penalising provisions brought in this budget should be ended."
Delhi: On the Union Budget, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram says, "... We were expecting the FM to give relief to those who have taken student loans. While she has said she is going to give new student loans, what about those who already took loans and are unable to pay back? The allocation of MNREGA funds has gone down... Removal of indexation will create a lot of disappointment for the people who are holding property, particularly those who inherit property from their previous generation. This is practically an inheritance tax..."
On Opposition’s protest against ‘discriminatory’ Budget, FM Nirmala Sitharaman in Rajya Sabha says,”…In every Budget, you don’t get an opportunity to name every state of this country...The Cabinet had taken a decision to set up a port on Vadavan. But Maharashtra’s name was not taken in the Budget yesterday. Does this mean that Maharashtra feels ignored? If a particular state is named in the speech, does it mean that programs of GOI don't go to these states? This is a deliberate attempt of the Opposition led by Congress to give the impression to people that nothing has been given to our states. This is an outrageous allegation...”

On the Union Budget, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says, "...The Budget is really good and everyone has welcomed it. The Opposition is trying to mislead by saying that it is a budget for only 2 states. The allocation of capital expenditure of Rs 11 lakh 11 thousand 111 crores for building infrastructure is not for 1-2 states, it is for the entire country. From infrastructure to medical, giving relaxation to the middle-class people, facilities given to the farmers or giving a separate package to the tribal people, all that has been done for the country. It is wrong to say that the entire Union Budget is for 1 or 2 states...If Bihar is getting some benefit in the budget, then what is the problem with it?...It is the budget of the entire country, which is presented collectively to everyone..."

On the Union Budget, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav says "We all were demanding that farmers should get MSP but the support price is given to the alliance partners who are saving their govt, rather than the farmers...The government could not take any concrete step regarding inflation. Uttar Pradesh did not get anything. UP should have got a double benefit from the double-engine government. I think the people of Lucknow have angered the people of Delhi. Its result is visible in the budget. So what is the benefit of the double engine?..."
Congress President & LoP Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge says, "Many didn't get justice (in Union Budget). We are fighting for justice."
Delhi | Leaders of INDIA bloc protest against 'discriminatory' Union Budget 2024, demand equal treatment to all States, in Parliament.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will meet the delegation of seven farmer leaders on Wednesday, news agency ANI reported, citing sources. The meeting will be held at around 11 am in the Parliament. According to ANI sources, the farmer's leaders will ask Rahul Gandhi to bring a private member bill to fulfill their long-standing demands.
Meanwhile, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leaders announced on Monday that they would burn effigies of the Modi government all over the nation and launch a fresh protest to fulfill their demands for legalising the MSP guarantee.
During the session, the Centre will present six bills, including the Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024 which is aimed at facilitating a legal way of replacing the British-era Aircraft Act of 1934 to ensure provisions for ease of doing business in India’s civil aviation sector, The Disaster Management (Amendment) Law Bill and the Boilers Bill, the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill. The Budget of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will also be presented during the session.

A day after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the budget, the I.N.D.I.A Bloc leaders are set to hold protests on the premises of the Parliament. The opposition bloc held a meeting at Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence on Tuesday.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament began on Monday. The session will have 19 sittings scheduled in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha till August 12. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday.

Finance Minister Sitharaman Announces Union Budget
Finance Minister Sitharaman on Tuesday presented the Union Budget during the Parliament's Budget session for the seventh consecutive time. However, the budget drew criticism from several leaders of the opposition, who alleged that the budget was "biased" and made to appease the NDA allies, particularly Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
INDIA Bloc Leaders To Protest At Parliament
Following the announcement of the Budget, the I.N.D.I.A Bloc leaders held a meeting at Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence. Shortly after, the opposition alliance announced that it will be staging a protest in the premises of the Parliament on July 24, against the alleged "discriminatory" budget announced by the Finance Minister.
Rahul Gandhi Takes Dig At Centre Over Budget
Calling it a "Kursi Bachao Budget," LoP in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Centre in a post on X saying, "Kursi Bachao Budget. Appease allies: Hollow promises to them at the cost of other states. Appease Cronies: Benefits to AA with no relief for the common Indian. Copy and Paste: Congress manifesto and previous budgets."
The grand old party has also alleged that many announcements in the Union Budget were "copy-pasted" from the party's manifesto for 2024. Taking a swipe at the PM Modi-led government, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that the he was glad that the Finance Minister read the Congress 2024 manifesto.
