Four Indian Army personnel travelling from Pedong in West Bengal to Zuluk along the Silk Route of the Sikkim lost their lives in a road accident on Thursday, according to Indian Army officials. The accident occurred along the Silk Route in the Pakyong district of Sikkim.
The deceased were identified as Pradeep Patel from Madhya Pradesh, W Peter from Manipur, Naik Gursev Singh from Haryana, and Subedar K Thangapandi from Tamil Nadu. The four army deceased personnel, including a driver, belonged to the same unit from Binaguri in West Bengal.
According to India Today, officials confirmed that the car went off the road and plunged 700–800 feet down the valley at Vertical Veer, close to Dalopchand Dara, along the Rhenock Rongli state route, also known as the Silk Route.
