Mumbai (Maharashtra): A Pakistani man masqueraded as an Indian doctor to lure a Mumbai woman to marry him. He also threatened to kill her after she rejected his marriage proposal.

The woman who works in a 5-star-hotel here was introduced to the man through a matrimonial website said he told her he was native from Nagpur working in London as a doctor. He promised her to return to India after terminating his contract.

According to the woman, the man always used to ask her questions pertaining to her choices and hobbies but was always reluctant to answer the questions asked by her, reported news agency ANI.

Suspicious of his intentions, the girl called the hospital in London and found out that the man was not even an employee there. She was shocked to know that the man with whom she shared so much was of Pakistan origin having three kids.

“I came to know about his original identity after he shared photographs of himself and his identity card of the hospital he purportedly worked with. In one of the pictures, I noticed a contact number of a photo studio. I made a phone call on that number which was picked up by a friend of the Pakistani man. He told her that the man whom she was talking to for so long was a Pakistani and that he was already married and had three children,” she told ANI.

The woman snapped ties with the man when she came to know that she’s been duped. The man then started making her threatening calls.

The woman later lodged a complaint at the Versova Police Station. Which has taken note of her complaint and registered a non-cognizable offence in the matter
