New Delhi: After a gap of two years, the Amarnath yatra will be organised this year from June 30. In regard to the same, the Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Dilbag Singh said that preparations for the security of devotees have been done. He added that the police and security forces are ready to tackle the militants, news agency ANI reported.
“Planning for preparations & security for Amarnath Yatra is done. An analysis of the number of devotees coming this year for the yatra has been done too. Pakistan tries to jeopardise peace in Kashmir but police & security forces are prepared to tackle militants,” Singh told ANI.
For the past two years, Amarnath Yatra was put on a halt in order to curb the spread of the covid-19 virus. This year the Yatra would be organised, however, the devotees have to follow the protocol.
The registration for the pilgrimage starts on Saturday, April 2. As per the shrine board, in one day, 20 thousand devotees would be registered for the pilgrimage. To register for the yatra, the devotees would have to submit their health certificates. Besides, a health certificate, the devotees also need four passport size photos.
The registration can be done in any branch of J&K Bank, Yes Bank, and Punjab National Bank
Anyone above the age of 75 years and below the age of 13 years is not permitted to register for this pilgrimage. The yatra would begin on June 30 and span over a period of 43 days, ending on August 11.
