New Delhi: Launching a vitriolic attack on All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said the Nizam’s name will be written off in Telangana the way Article 370 was scrapped and the construction of Ram Mandir began in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.

“The way Article 370 was scrapped, Ram Mandir's construction began...here also Nizam’s name, Owaisi's name will be written off...that day is not very far,” he said addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Warangal, Telangana, ANI reported.

Continuing his diatribe, Sarma said that an emergency-like situation arises in the country whenever a dictator becomes the Chief Minister or Prime Minister.

“We have to keep fighting and it will result in the creation of a new Telangana. Dictatorship will not work here,” he added.

Sarma said the history of India says that Babur, Aurangzeb and Nizam cannot live long.

“I am sure that the legacy of Nizam will come to a complete halt and a new culture based on Indian civilization will emerge,” he told ANI.

The Assam Chief Minister’s remarks come as Owaisi has been highly critical of the BJP.

Addressing a gathering at Dingarpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, the AIMIM chief earlier on Tuesday said the BJP leaders are trying to destroy communal harmony and dignity of the Indian Constitution.

Referring to the ‘Dharamsansad' recently held in Haridwar, where open calls for violence against the Muslims were made by seers and many others, Owaisi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of encouraging people who are spreading hatred in name of religion, PTI reported.
