Kolkata: The seven-member team of the National Human Rights Commission had filed its report in Calcutta High Court in a sealed envelope. The first interim report was filed and then a final report this week has been submitted.
There are some extremely important observations that have been made in the report that are interestingly typed by the members themselves to ensure the safety of the content shared in the report.

The report has been made on basis of around 1000 cases out of 3000 cases identified by the committee whom the members met over a period of weeks by traveling across the length and breadth of the state as a part of teams consisting of individual members.
The instance of members being heckled, attacked, and even harassed has been found mention in the report where the local police played the role of mute spectators.
Violence and fear on women and children for family members voting for a certain political allegiance as well as the silence of the bureaucracy has been found mention in the report.
A highly placed source on condition of anonymity said that the court has already ordered a Probe in the Death of a political worker Abhijit Sarkar, which was a part of the recommendations made by the high-powered committee.
Protection to those who have been a witness in the report has also been made a part of observations.
