In the Opposition leaders' meeting, which took place on Wednesday morning to chalk out the strategy for the Winter Session of the Parliament, the leaders decided to raise the issues like inflation, price rise and unemployment in both houses of Parliament.


They are also likely to discuss topics like misuse of agencies, the role of Governors and Lieutenant Governors (LG), and Chinese incursions during the session, ANI reported.


According to the news agency, the meeting was held in the Parliament in the Chamber of Opposition leader Malikarjun Kharge.


After a long time, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) took part in the Opposition meeting today. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also participated in the meeting.


The winter session commenced today. The session will have 17 sittings over 23 days before it concludes on December 29.


Rahul Gandhi and several senior Congress leaders who are undertaking the Bharat Jodo Yatra are unlikely to attend the session, reported PTI.


The Narendra Modi-led government has planned to present 16 new bills in the session, including the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and the Trade Marks (Amendment) Bill, 2022.


According to the PTI, members of opposition parties have detailed around 16 issues for raising during the session.


These include national security and China border "incursions", the recent cyber attack on AIIMS, "uncontrolled" inflation and price rise of essential commodities, persisting high level of unemployment, failure to provide legal sanctity to minimum support price (MSP), and a rethink on the EWS reservation after the Supreme Court verdict.


The Lok Sabha will pay tributes to members who passed away during the inter-session period, on the first day.


Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, who passed away in October after a prolonged illness, will be among the departed members to be remembered.


The monsoon session of Parliament was held between July 18 and August 8.
