New Delhi: Union Minister for Civilian Aviation, Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, said Thursday that 3,726 Indians will be brought back home today, under Operation Ganga.
“With all hands on deck & the direction of PM @narendramodi Ji, we will get 3726 of our people back home today. Jai Hind! #OperationGanga,” Scindia wrote in a tweet.
In another tweet, Scindia mentioned the number of flights reaching India from different neighbouring countries of Ukraine.
As many as eight flights are bringing Indian nationals from Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The aircraft are being provided by the Indian Air Force, and Air India, and IndiGo.
As many as two flights, provided by IndiGo, are bringing back Indians from Suceava, another city in Romania.
A single flight is bringing back Indians from Košice, a city in eastern Slovakia.
As many as five flights are bringing back Indians from Budapest, capital of Hungary. The aircraft are being provided by the Indian Air Force, Go First airways, and Air India.
Lastly, three flights provided by IndiGo are bringing back Indians from Rzeszów, Poland.

S Jaishankar, Union Minister of External Affairs, said in a tweet late Wednesday that nine flights had taken off from Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Poland.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the Government of India launched "Operation Ganga" to bring back stranded students and Indian students from Ukraine.
In order to assist the evacuation of Indian nationals throughout the border crossing points with Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia, Control Centres which operate 24×7 have been set up.
