'Khaalistan Zindabad' slogans were shouted by hundreds of Sikh devotees who had gathered in religious place which is considered as one of the five most important seats in Sikhism.
Every year, thousands of Sikhs from across the world assemble here to mark the event.
The slogans were raised despite SGPC had asked several outfits to observe the anniversary peacefully.
Tight security arrangements had been made in several parts of Punjab, including Amritsar.
On June 6 in 2015, five youths were injured in a clash inside the Golden Temple when people had gathered there to mark anniversary of Operation Bluestar. A group of Sikh youths had even raised pro-Khalistan slogans on the periphery of the temple near Akal Takht.
Last year on June 6, pro-Khalistan slogans were again raised at Akal Takht in the premises of Golden Temple.
Operation Blue Star
Operation Blue Star was an Indian military operation which occurred between 1 June and 6 June 1984, ordered by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to remove militant religious leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his militant armed followers from the Golden Temple comples.
The biggest fallout of Operation Bluestar was the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi less than five months after the operation.
