"Today is September 28. Three years ago, on this day, I could not sleep the whole night as I was waiting for a call. It was on this day that the Indian soldiers carried out the surgical strikes. They showed exemplary bravery while risking their lives," Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi’s comments comes amid a war-hysteria created by Pakistan with its attempt to push terrorists in to carry out attacks in India.
The Indian forces had carried out the surgical strikes on terror camps inside PoK in September 2016 in retaliation to a terror attack on an Army camp in Uri on September 18 in which 18 soldiers lost their lives.
"That day marked the victory of India''s brave soldiers who did surgical strike and made the country proud," he said.
The prime minister came back on Saturday night from his trip to the US where he addressed the UN General Assembly and the Climate Action Summit, besides several bilateral events, and the "Howdy Modi!" diaspora gathering.
He said that the respect and enthusiasm for India has increased significantly on the world stage in the last five years, as he was given a rousing welcome by BJP workers.
