A woman lost her life after being struck by a speeding car while attempting to cross an expressway in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. The accident, which occurred last Sunday, was captured on CCTV, showing the victim being flung into the air upon impact. She succumbed to a severe head injury and died on the spot.

The 30-second CCTV footage revealed the victim, accompanied by another woman and two children, trying to cross the expressway at night. The group had just alighted from a KSRTC bus near a highway bridge and was heading toward Rampura Village, reported NDTV. As the victim reached the second lane from the divider, a speeding car traveling from Ballari to Challakere struck her and fled the scene without slowing down.

The impact of the collision tossed the woman into the air, while others in the group narrowly escaped harm. A passerby stopped to check on the victim, who was lying unconscious on the road. Another vehicle also halted upon noticing the accident. Despite efforts to assist her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries.
