PM Modi is addressing the nation on his 75th Mann Ki Baat address. PM began the address by thanking the nation for his radio programme success. PM Modi thanked the listeners for discussing a wide range of topics like rivers to himalayan peaks, deserts to natural disasters, tales of service to mankind, technological inventions to stories of innovations from remote areas in the 75 episodes of Mann Ki Baat.

PM also remembered the time when the Janata Curfew was announced in March 2020 and appreciated the citizens for supporting it. PM also discussed how wary the situation was when the country was fighting against coronavirus in March 2020 and everyone was worried about the Covdi vaccine but now India is exporting vaccines to other nations to limit the spread of Covid 19.

"The world's biggest vaccination program is underway in India, today. In UP's Jaunpur, a 109-yr-old woman got herself vaccinated. Similarly, a 107-yr-old man in Delhi got himself vaccinated. We have to make people committed towards the mantra of 'Dawai bhi, Kadai bhi," said PM Modi during Mann Ki Baat.

PM also paid tribute to the 14 lighthouse workers who lost their lives during the 2004 Tsunami. PM cited the innumerable loss India suffered during the natural disaster and explained the key role of lighthouses during such havoc situation.

PM Narendra Modi continued, "Guruprasadh Ji from Chennai shared images of his visits to Lighthouses in Tamil Nadu. This is a unique aspect of tourism that is being highlighted in Mann Ki Baat. I have spoken many times on various aspects of tourism, but, these lighthouses are unique in terms of tourism. Light Houses have always been a center of attraction for people due to their magnificent structures."

Congratulating Indian cricketer Mithali Raj, PM Modi said, "Mithali (Raj) ji has recently become the first Indian woman cricketer to score 10,000 runs in international cricket. Many congratulations on his achievement." It is interesting that In the month of March when we are celebrating Women's Day, many women players secured records and medals in their name. India bagged top position during the ISSF World Cup shooting organised at Delhi. India also topped the gold medals tally. PV Sindhu has won the Silver Medal in the BWF Swiss Open Super 300 Tournament."

The address comes a day after PM Modi's two-day Bangladesh visit. He was in the neighbouring country to take part in celebrations marking 50 years of its independence. The Prime Minister also visited a temple during his visit.

The two countries signed five key pacts in areas ranging from trade to disaster management. PM Modi, during his talks with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reviewed progress in development and connectivity initiatives.

The address also comes after the first phase of polling in West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections. Both the states are crucial for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - in Assam, it is looking to retain power while in West Bengal, it has cowed to oust the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
