New Delhi: Babri case litigant Hashim Ansari passed away at his residence in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh this morning.


The oldest surviving litigant (96) was admitted to the King George's Medical University following complains of chest pain and congestion. The case is pending in Supreme Court.

He was not been keeping well recently and was being treated at a private hospital in Faizabad. According to his family members, Hashim was admitted to district hospital Faizabad where doctors referred him to KGMU.

Here at KGMU, on examination, doctors found that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was the cause of chest pain.
