Continuing his tirade against PM Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi did not belong to the Other Backward Caste community and was originally born into a family belonging to the Teli caste. He alleged that the prime minister was misleading people about his caste.

"PM Modi was not born in the OBC category. He was born Teli caste in Gujarat. The community was given the tag of OBC in the year 2000 by the BJP. He was born in the General caste...He will not allow caste census to be conducted in his entire life because he was not born in OBC, he was born in General caste," he said.

Addressing the public in Odisha during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said, that PM Modi “was born in a family that belonged to the general caste”.

“Modi ji has been misleading the people by saying that he is an OBC. He was born in a family of the Teli caste, which was included in the OBC list during the BJP government's tenure in Gujarat in 2000. Therefore, Modi ji is not an OBC by birth,” he said. Further adding that the Prime Minister does not shake hands with OBCs but "hugs billionaires".

Gandhi also alleged that the prime minister does not shake hands with OBCs, but “hugs billionaires”.

He also addressed the public once his yatra entered Chhattisgarh. He recalled a slogan from the Bharat Jodo Yatra - "Nafrat ke bazaar me mohabbat ki dukan" (shop of love in the market of hatred) and said it explained the Congress' ideology, he said.

"They open markets of hatred and we open the shop of love. They run markets of violence, we run the shop of non-violence," the Lok Sabha member claimed.

"On people's demand, we decided to roll out the second edition of the yatra and added 'Nyay' word to it - Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. In the first yatra, we found that injustice is being meted out to different sections, languages, states, women, farmers and labourers. There is a link between injustice and hatred-violence. Without injustice, hatred cannot be spread," he said.

Further taking a jibe at the BJP he said the party's two-point programme is to "encourage injustice and spread hatred and violence," Gandhi alleged.

Speaking about the second editon of the yatra, he said the second edition of the yatra is for justice from an economic and social point of view.

Questioning the Centre on unemployment and jobs, he said, "Why is there unemployment? It is because everything is being given to Adani. Your assets are being handed to him. You pay GST (Goods and Services Tax) and it directly goes into the pocket of Adani."
