New Delhi: In a strange order, Noida SHO has issued a notification to various companies in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida to keep their Muslim employees from reading Namaz in open.  This came after a formal permission was sought by employees working in offices close to sector 68, to read namaz in open in a park on Fridays.

In response to the request, the same was declined by Noida police; stating ‘Such public meetings would spoil the communal harmony’; where the companies were told that they would be responsible if the employees were found reading namaz.

Speaking on the same, Noida police official said “This notice hasn’t been issued against a community but against a particular practice.”

Soon after the notice, the Home Ministry has now sought a response from the Noida police.

Reacting on the same, Congress asked government to take the matter seriously and initiate a probe in the case.

An official confirmed to IANS that at least a dozen companies in Sector 58 of Noida have been served the notice by the concerned police station.
