Urging for the immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue and diplomacy, India expressed concern over the Ukraine conflict at the United Nations during the UNGA Annual Debate on Ukraine. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remark that this was not an era of war, India's Ambassador to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj said New Delhi has always advocated that there can be no solution at the cost of human lives, adding that dialogue is the only answer to settling differences and disputes, however daunting that may appear at the moment.
"India remains deeply concerned about the conflict in Ukraine, urging an immediate cessation of hostilities & return to dialogue & diplomacy. Essential to emphasize that this is not an era of war," Ruchira Kamboj said. She said India continues to remain concerned over the situation in Ukraine, where the conflict has resulted in loss of lives, especially that of women and children.
This comes as Russia carried out an air attack on the southern part of Ukraine's Odesa for the second night after it halted the Black Sea grain deal. City Governor Oleh Kiper cautioned the locals to not approach any windows and urged them to not shoot or show the work of air defence forces.
