The Delhi government on Sunday issued a fresh set of guidelines to be followed by the citizens as well as the administration during the festivals across the national capital till October 31 to prevent spread of COVID-19 infection. According to the official notice released by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Fairs/Melas/Food-stalls (inside and outside the venues), Jhoolas/Rallies/Exhibitions/Processions will not be permitted during festivals till 31st October, 2020 in Delhi.

The notice read that all event organisers will have to obtain requisite permission from District Magistrate concerned for organising festival events, well in advance, besides obtaining permission from other authorities concerned as per applicable laws/ rules.

Capacity of each event site will be decided on the basis of area and the social distancing norms. In closed space, a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity well be allowed with a ceiling of 200 persons.



Moreover, the event organisers shall ensure separate entry and exit at each event site which shall be strictly regulated and only be allowed to person with face mask.

At all events related to the festivities, no person will be allowed in standing or squatting position. Only sitting on chairs with social distancing norms shall be allowed.

Earlier this week,  the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had issued various generic precautionary measures to be adopted to prevent spread of COVID-19 infection during the approaching festivals which usually begin from October and stretch upto November sometimes.

The Union Health Ministry in its issued SOP stated that no festive program will be allowed in the Containment Zone. The ministry recommended that persons over 65 years of age, pregnant women and children under 10 years of age are advised to stay at home. This also applies to event managers and employees.
