No Confidence Motion Debate in Parliament HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome to the live blog on the no-confidence motion debate in Parliament.
The debate on the no-trust motion began on Tuesday amid considerable turmoil, as the BJP "mocked" Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for declining to start the debate. The no-trust discussion was started by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, who asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi three critical questions.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi stated: "PM took a ‘maun vrat' to not speak in the Parliament. So, we had to bring the No Confidence Motion to break his silence. We have three questions for him - 1) Why did he not visit Manipur to date? 2) Why did it take almost 80 days to finally speak on Manipur and when he did speak it was just for 30 seconds? 3) Why has the CM not sacked the Manipur CM so far?”
During the debate on the no-confidence motion against the government, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated: "When our government was formed, in the first cabinet meeting, (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi ji made a group and said that every 15 days, five cabinet ministers and seven ministers of state must tour the Northeast. It is still going on, all the ministers sitting here have toured the northeast."
