The Nitish Kumar-led government will face a floor test to prove majority in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on August 24, ANI reported. The Bihar Cabinet expansion is likely to happen on August 16. Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the eighth time on Wednesday while RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the Grand Alliance brought a no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, who is from the BJP. A notice signed by several legislators of the Grand Alliance was submitted to the Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday.
"The motion against Sinha will be taken up by the House when it meets to enable Nitish Kumar to move a trust vote," PTI quoted senior JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary as syaing.
"As per rules, a Speaker can be removed from office by a resolution of the assembly passed by a majority," he said.

"The Speaker's motive was suspicious. He refused to go by convention to resign from the post (after the change in government)," another JD(U) leader said.
In the Assembly, the 'Mahagathbandhan' or Grand Alliance has a total of 164 members. The BJP has 77 MLAs.
On Tuesday, Nitish Kumar broke his alliance with the BJP for the second time in eight years before joining hands with the 'Mahagathbandhan', which constitutes of the RJD, Congress and Left parties. The Grand Alliance also has the support of HAM, which has four MLAs in the Assembly.
The RJD may receive the majority of the departments that were previously under the control of the BJP, while JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar is likely to keep the crucial Home portfolio, PTI reported.
A tentative agreement has been reached over the new Cabinet's makeup, which is expected to include "35 people or more" from Kumar's JD(U), the RJD, and the Congress.
"The JD(U) is likely to have 13 ministers, the RJD has settled for 16. The Congress will be given four berths, while former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM will have one member in the cabinet," a source was quoted by PTI in its report.
