In a statement to ANI, P L Punia said, "Nitish Kumar always had a respectable persona. But now he does not have that same figure in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government as he used to have in a grand alliance as the Chief Minister. He is just trying to fit in the BJP".
Meanwhile, on Monday, Kumar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that no one can beat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He even added that there is no one who can defeat him.
It began way back in 2014 when Nitish Kumar broke alliances with BJP over the decision of choosing Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate. Since then he had been claiming that he would never join hand with BJP but everything went upside down on July 26th when he ended his two-year alliance with Lalu's party, RJD and immediately formed a new government next day by joining hands with BJP. He took this decision because of the corruption charges against his deputy and Lalu Prashad's Son, Tejaswi Yadav.
But the clashes between Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar did not end there in past. Earlier in 2015, Prime Minister Modi made a statement on Kumar's frequent changing of the alliances and said that may be there was some problem with Nitish Kumar's DNA.
However, after snapping ties with Lalu Prasad, Nitish Kumar on Monday said in a statement that he had given Lalu Prasad several opportunities to explain the charges of corruption against him but all went in vain.
“If Lalu had explained himself over the corruption allegations, then the situation could have been different in Bihar,” Nitish said.
