"It was irresponsible of Donald Trump to say that Narendra Modi was not in a good mood over India-China border standoff. Our Prime Minister is very smart and he knows well how to resolve disputes peacefully. It is Trump's personal business of what he says, but Opposition should refrain from making such statements in the situation when country is fighting several battles together," Gadkari said.
Speaking in an interactive session with Rubika Liyaquat at the final leg of ABP News flagship e-Shikhar Sammelan, Union Minister also spoke about the plight of migrant workers who have suffered the most due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by Central government in the backdrop of Coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking on the after effects of workers migration from one state to their native states amid Coronavirus pandemic, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that "it is the fear that lead to the unfortunate situation. However this can be mended if proper psychological counselling is conducted on a mass level for every citizen."
He went on to say that there are 10 to 15 per cent migrant labourers engaged in our industries who have come from other states. Amid the Lockdown, several went back to their hometowns but not all of them have returned.
Hailing the administration, Gadkari said that as soon as we resumed the economic operations such as exports, transportation despite the COVID pandemic, the migrant workers are rather seeking to return back to their work stations.
"We need to understand the art of living with Coronavirus. The pandemic is an opportunity. It is a blessing in disguise. Countries like Japan are not interested in doing business with China. This can be a big opportunity for India," Gadkari said, requesting the employers not to layoff any worker in the situation of crisis.
Gadkari is of the belief that positivity and self discipline is the key to tackle the situation at the moment until the science and technology come up with assured cure.
"I am hopeful that Coronavirus vaccine will be made in within a month's time as many researchers and scientists in India and world are rigorously," Gadkari said while speaking to Rubika Liyaquat.
"Modi government has given a massive economic package and it will help industries to get back on its foot in the days to come. I do not say industries will start working to the fullest, but around 60 per cent of the workflow will get back to normal by next month. All read several big industries like TVS and several SMEs have started workflow," he said.
