New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday inaugurated the country's tallest national flag of 418 ft at the Indo-Pak Attari border in Amritsar, Punjab.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was also present with him at the inauguration ceremony.
While speaking to the reporters, Nitin Gadkari said, "It is the golden day of my life. I have come to the Attari-Wagah border for the first time. NHAI has installed the tallest national flag here. This is a place that inspires you to be patriotic."
"I have done a lot of things in life- tunnels, bridges but this is the most amazing. I am delighted and I thank the jawans who are guarding our borders", Gadkari added.
Earlier in the day, Gadkari also addressed the third edition of the Global Maritime India Summit via video conference.
Addressing the event, Gadkari said several national waterways are proposed under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
The Minister for Road Transport and Highways said "the development of waterways is very important for the development of Bharat." "We are committed to fostering public-private partnership (PPP) to drive further growth in the inland water transport sector. Several national waterways are proposed under PPP modes.
Meanwhile, a Marathi biopic on the senior BJP leader entitled 'Gadkari' will hit the silver screens across Maharashtra on October 27.
