New Delhi: 2012 Delhi Gang-rape convict Vinay Sharma, who was sentenced to death for mercilessly murdering and raping a student in a moving bus has allegedly attempted suicide in Tihar jail.


According to the sources, Sharma consumed pills and hanged himself. He has been admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital.

This comes after Sharma sought more security for himself in the jail, by claiming that there’s a threat to his life after he was allegedly beaten up by fellow inmates.

Out of 6 convicts, earlier in 2013; Ram Singh killed self in Tihar Jail and was found hanging. Ram Singh was the driver of the bus where the girl was raped.
