New Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is expected to visit Upper Dangri village in Jammu & Kashmir where five people including a minor were killed in two separate terrorist attacks since Sunday. Many were left injured after the attacks. News agency ANI reported two sources as indicating that a team led by a senior NIA official might visit the spot today or tomorrow. This is a part of the new modus operandi that has been adopted by the agency to visit places where such terror incidents happen.
As per ANI, the team that will be sent will be from NIA's Jammu branch. This team will gather the details of the incidents along with the sleuths of J&K police. The sleuths will be keeping a tab on the methods that terrorists have used to slay civilians in the last two attacks in Dangri village of Rajouri district.
The first attack happened on Sunday evening and the second took place on Monday when a minor was also killed in an attack using a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED). ADGP Mukesh Singh had cautioned the people as another suspected IED was spotted around eight kilometers away from Rajouri town.
Numerous organisations called for a strike to protest against the incident and also to demand swift action on the matter. A massive search operation to nab the two 'armed' men' behind the terrorist attack has been launched collectively by the Indian Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The office of Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has declared that the families of those slain in the shooting will get an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakhs and a government job.
A statement that was issued by the office said: "An ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh and a government job would be given to the next of kin of each of those civilians martyred in the dastardly attack. Seriously injured would be given Rs.1 lakh. Officials have been directed to ensure best treatment to injured."
