The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested Yudhvir Singh, an aide of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, for his involvement in the terrorist-gangster drug smuggler network. He was evading arrest for the past several days. NIA investigations have revealed that Yudhvir Singh used to smuggle weapons from across the border for dreaded gangsters and criminals in various parts of India. He was on the run but was finally nabbed by the NIA, reported news agency ANI.
Yudhvir Singh aka Sadhu is a resident of Haryana's Fatehabad and an associate of the notorious jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. A police official while talking to ANI said, "On the directions of Lawrence Bishnoi and syndicate members, he also used to harbour associates of criminal gang members and accused persons tasked with committing various kinds of crimes, including murder, extortion, etc."
NIA earlier had chargesheeted 14 accused on March 24 under various sections of IPC, Arms Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Yudhvir has been charged under the same case.
The case concerns a conspiracy hatched by members of criminal gangs and syndicates with bases in both India and overseas to raise funds and recruit young people to carry out terrorist attacks in Delhi and other regions of the nation.
Investigations by the NIA have thus far shown that the conspiracies were hatched in prisons across many states and carried out by a structured network of operatives based abroad. Further investigations into these cases are continuing as part of NIA's efforts to end the growing nexus between terrorists, gangsters, and drug smugglers, and to dismantle their funding and infrastructure, reported ANI.
