Kolkata: The official team of National Human Rights Commission have made their second visit to Bengal to look into rising complaints of Post-poll violence in the state.
The official NHRC delegation that landed on Kolkata today, comprises of three teams. Each team would visit different districts of the state to investigate the Post-poll situations and complaints of violence.
Primarily, various areas of Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Paraganas, South 24 Paraganas and Bankura are on their surveillance list.
Instances of post-poll violence are rising in the state, where BJP workers are alleging being beaten up and attacked brutally by the workers of the winning party in the State Legislature elections, TMC. TMC-turncoat BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, recently visited an area of East Medinipur where windows of BJP workers were smashed and houses were looted.
When the official team of NHRC had visited Kolkata last month in initial days if post poll violence probe, they were reportedly attacked in Jadavpur area of the city. Upon reading NHRC'S interim report, Calcutta High Court has ordered the State police to register all reported cases of violence, upon which it shall further take cognisance.
