New Delhi: Dhananjay Munde, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), said that Maharashtra's next chief minister will come from the Sharad Pawar-led party. Dhananjay Munde claimed the social justice department in the existing Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government became prominent as a result of his efforts, speaking at a public meeting in Parbhani city on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.
"If a question arises tomorrow regarding whom to hand over the social justice portfolio......whoever would be the next chief minister....and the CM will be ours (NCP's) only. The CM will say that let the social justice portfolio remain with us (NCP). This department has earned so much reputation," Dhananjay Munde was quoted by PTI in its report.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is a crucial component of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, which has recently completed two-and-a-half years in office.
Dhananjay Munde said that he had previously served as the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and had done a good job.

In the state government, the NCP controls the critical portfolios of finance, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and home.
"Earlier, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had appointed me as the opposition leader (in the Maharashtra Legislative Council). No matter how stable and powerful, I had shaken the then government," he added
