National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Saturday said that Subhas Chandra Bose, also known as Netaji, wanted the people of India to feel like free birds in the sky. Speaking at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture in Delhi, Doval said, Bose not only wanted to free India from political subjugation but he also felt the need to change the political, social, and cultural mindset of the people. Doval further stated that SC Bose had said that he did not want to compromise for anything less than full independence and freedom.


"Netaji (Subhas Chandra Bose) said I will not compromise for anything less than full independence and freedom. He said that he not only wants to free this country from political subjugation but there is a need to change the political, social and cultural mindset of the people and they should feel like free birds in the sky," Ajit Doval said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.






Earlier on Wednesday, Ajit Doval and his US counterpart Jake Sullivan held a bilateral meeting in Delhi. National Security Advisor of the US Jake Sullivan was on a visit to India at the invitation of Doval from June 13-14.


During the delegation-level talks held today in the national capital, both NSAs discussed issues of mutual interest. Sullivan is accompanied by a delegation comprising senior US government officials and leaders from the US industry. His visit to the national capital comes in the run-up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming state visit to the US.
