Aarti Hamal, the daughter of Nepal mayor Gopal Hamal who went missing in Goa has been found, said the Mayor in a Facebook post on Wednesday.


Aarti, 36 had gone missing while at an Osho meditation centre at Ashvem in the Pernem taluka. A missing person's complaint was registered by the Goa Police which began a search operation to locate Aarti who is the daughter of Nepal's Dhanigadhi municipality Mayor. 


"I would like to inform all the well-wishers that my eldest daughter Aarti has been found safe and sound in Goa due to everyone's search efforts," said the Mayor in his Facebook post.  


Earlier, Hamal had taken to social media platform X to inform about her missing daughter. 


"My elder daughter, Aarti, is an Osho meditator who has been living in Goa for a few months. However, I have received a message from her friend stating that she has lost contact with Aarti Zorba Vibes Ashwem Breeze since yesterday," said Gopal Hamal, requesting those who live in Goa to assist in the search for her daughter. 


He also said that his younger daughter Arzoo, and her husband would fly to Goa to search for his elder daughter and shared phone numbers to contact in the post. 






"I sincerely request that you contact 9794096014 / 8273538132 / 9389607953 to provide the necessary assistance in the search for my daughter," he said. 


Arzoo also took to Facebook saying that she is flying to Goa to search for her sister. 


"All my friends and family. I humbly request that you all not reach out to me today, as I am on my way to Goa to find my sister, I will only reach there tomorrow morning. I will be taking a flight from Lucknow to Goa," her post read. 


The meditation centre's manager, Anand Prem Katipal lodged the missing person's complaint, said Pernem Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi, according to a Times of India report. Aarti, who goes by the names Leela and Artusha has been reported missing since March 25, as per the report.
