NEET-PG 2024 Exam: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the NEET-PG 2024 examination, which is scheduled for August 11, 2024.

The candidates have knocked the top court seeking a direction from court to authorities to conduct exam in one single batch to ensure a uniform and fair testing environment for all candidates. Currently, the exam is likley to be conducted in two batches. The candidates apprehend that their is a likelihood that one batch of candidates may face a more difficult question paper than the other batch.

The contend that as candidates are unaware of formula for normalisation that will be applied to conduct exam in two batches, the exam must be conducted in one single batch to ensure a uniform and fair testing environment for all candidates.

The plea further claims that many candidates who will be appearing in the exam have been allocated highly difficult to reach cities.

The petition submitted in the apex court that the test cities were allocated on July 31 and the centres are scheduled to announced on August 8. This was done to curb any malpractice in the examinations, however given the short notice, it has become highly difficult for students to make arrangements for their travel to their specific cities.

They have prayed that the test centres should be allocated more equitably and transparently at nearby places.

Centres Alotted 1000 km Away From Homes Of Candidates

After the cities were announced there was huge backlash from students on social media. It came to light that some students were allotted centres 1000 km away from their homes. Several candidates took to social media to narrate their ordeal and criticised the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for allegedly causing mental harassment. The students are demanding the exam be conducted in a single shift with centres within their home states.

In response to the controversy over distant examination centres, some NEET PG 2024 candidates were reassigned exam centres. However, the NEET PG aspirants remain dissatisfied. Some said that they have not received any emails regarding their exam centre allotment, while others have been reassigned to less favorable cities.

On August 3, students were left in panic after an alleged official notice of the medical exam body NBEMS was allegedly leaked before being published on official website. As per the All FMG Association, a crucial notice from NBEMS has been leaked few days before the NEET PG  exam. The matter seems concerning as the medical exam body NBEMS has not yet released any such notice about NEET PG on its official website.
