NCP chief and senior leader Sharad Pawar was taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for a check-up after he felt uneasy due to a pain in his abdomen on Sunday evening, party leader Nawab Malik informed.

Malik said that Upon diagnosis, it came to light that he has a problem in his Gall bladder.

“Our party president Sharad Pawar saheb was feeling a little uneasy due to a pain in his abdomen last evening and was therefore taken to Breach Candy Hospital for a check-up. Upon diagnosis it came to light that he has a problem in his Gall Bladder,” Nawab Malik said in a tweet.

“He is on Blood Thinning Medication which is now being stopped due to this issue. He will be admitted in hospital on the 31st of March 2021 and an Endoscopy and Surgery will be conducted. Hence all his programmes stand cancelled until further notice,” Malik added.

The NCP chief was to go today to Kerala and on April 1 to West Bengal for assembly poll campaigning. However, now all his programmes have been cancelled until further notice.

This comes a day after much speculations that the NCP chief met Home Minister Amit Shah in Ahmedabad amid the crisis the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is facing after state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was accused of extortion.

Though, the National Congress Party Mumbai president Nawab Malik on Sunday denied any "deal" between Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar. He also alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is "spreading rumours." There has been speculation in political circles that Amit Shah met Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel on Saturday.
