Mumbai: Responding to the allegations of "inhuman treatment" by officials made by Amravati MP Navneet Rana, Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey on Tuesday took to Twitter and share a video that shows the MP along with her husband MLA Ravi Rana having tea at a Khar Police station.

The video posted by Mumbai top cop shows the MP-MLA duo enjoying warm hospitality of the Khar Police. He posted the video with a caption that read, "Do we say anything more."

MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana were taken into police custody on April 23. Both the leaders have been remanded to judicial custody of 14 days.

Soon after their arrest, Amravati (SC reserved seat) MP Navneet Kaur-Rana penned an angry letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging she was not given drinking water, not allowed to use the washroom and subjected to casteist slur.

Oblivious of her claims, the CCTV footage shared by Mumbai Commissioner shows in a relaxed mood, indulging in a friendly 'chai pe charcha' style chat with the cops.

"I made repeated demands for drinking water throughout the night. However, no drinking water was provided. To my shock and disbelief, the police staff present told me that I belong to Schedule Caste and hence they will not give me water in the same glass," Navneet Rana wrote in her letter to Birla.

The Lok Sabha Speaker sought a reply from the Maharashtra government within 24 hours. Meanwhile, state Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil staunchly defended the Mumbai Police, confidently assertly that "the reality was very different from the allegations".

The Rana couple were nabbed for planning to chant Hanuman Chalisa outside the private home of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in Bandra east. Both the lawmakers will be continue to cool their heels in jail, as their bail plea is posted for hearing on Friday.
