New Delhi: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday once again miffed his sentiment against the appointment of the director-general of police, advocate general of police in relation to the 2015 Scarilege case and thus demanded their immediate removal.

Sidhu on his official Twitter handle writes, “Demand for Justice in Sacrilege cases and for the arrest of main culprits behind the drug trade brought our Govt in 2017 & Due to his failure, People removed the last CM. Now, AG / DG appointments rub salt on wounds of victims, they must be replaced or we will have No face !!."

The 2015 sacrilege case takes us back to the three major incidents that happened in Punjab. In the first incident, on June 1, 2015, a copy of the holiest Sikh scriptures Guru Granth Sahib was stolen from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in Faridkot. In the second incident, on September 25, 2015, two abusive posters taming Sikhs and some of the Sikh preachers were pasted in a samadh near Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in Faridkot. In the third and the major incident, a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib was desecrated in front of the Bargari village gurdwara. The sacrilege case happens to be one of the reasons behind the tussle between Navjot Singh Sidhu and former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

A day after resigning from the position of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Sidhu broke his silence by questioning the parameter based on which the director-general of police, advocate general of police was appointed.

While saying that he is willing to make any sacrifice, Sidhu said that he will always stand on his principles.

Taking to Twitter, Sidhu in his 4-minute video clip said, "My dear Punjabis, my 17 years of political journey has been for a purpose – to improve the lives of the people of Punjab, to make a difference and to take a stand on politics of issues. This has been my “dharma" and my duty. Till today, I have no personal grudge against anyone, nor have I fought personal battles."
