New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the National Security Strategies Conference 2022 in the national capital where he highlighted the various initiatives taken by the Narendra Modi government towards strengthening the security apparatus of the country. He stressed that the government has successfully contained 'three perennial problems' on the internal security front.
The two-day National Security Strategies Conference 2022 which concluded on Thursday saw intense deliberations on existing and emerging security challenges. Ajay Kumar Mishra, MoS (Home), Nishith Pramanik, MoS (Home), Heads of Central Agencies, CAPFs, CPOs, and DGsP of all states attended the meeting.
Home Minister Amit Shah stated that since 2014, PM Narendra Modi had been making consistent efforts to bring improvement in the DGP Conference. "An analysis of this had revealed that we had been successful in finding solutions to various problems," he informed.

He further exhorted all states to give top priority to the issues related to national security. "This is a war for the country and for the future of youth. We must fight unitedly and single-mindedly to win this war," the Union Home Minister said.
Shah had instructed the DGsP of the bordering areas to keep a close watch on the demographic changes occurring in the bordering areas. He maintained that it is the responsibility of the DGsP to ensure that all information of technological and strategic importance was percolated down the line, particularly in the bordering districts.
"After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Shri Narendra Modi had not only given thrust on internal security but had also strengthened the system to face the challenges," Shah said, as per a statement.

As per the media briefing, it was highlighted that on the internal security front, India has been successful in containing three perennial problems, "terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir, various UG groups in North-East, and Left Wing Extremism".
"Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, we have enacted new laws, improved coordination with States, enhanced budgetary allocation, and ensured maximum use of technology," he said.
The Home Minister also mentioned that for the first time the country had developed a system in the form of the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS), and it must percolate down the line.
"Seizure of the consignment is not enough. We must strive to annihilate the entire drug network and reaching its source and destination is important," Shah asserted.
He also sought for a detailed analysis of good cases investigated by the states.
Some of the highlights from the meeting include:
- District-wise regular meetings of NCORD to be ensured and the people down the line must use it. The Prime Minister had initiated a technology mission and to ensure its success, we must make efforts that it reached down the line.
- Central Government preparing a database of different crimes.
- Work initiated on several fronts with a scientific approach. Focus on utilisation of 5G technology to strengthen the security apparatus.
- The fundamental principle of modern intelligence should not be ‘need to know’ but it should be ‘need to share’ and ‘duty to share’ because unless we change our approach, we would not be able to attain success, Amit Shah said.
This conference had young officers being informed about issues pertaining to national security. During the two-day conference, the sessions addressed several serious challenges such as Counter-terror and counter-radicalisation, overground Maoists and Front Organisation, security of ports and islands, demographic changes and increasing fundamentalism of bordering areas, and smuggling of Narcotics.
Technology-related concerns that were discussed included Crypto Currency, Counter drone technology, Cyber and social media, and the emerging challenges of 5G technologies.
As per the statement, delegates gave valuable suggestions to counter security threats. Cutting-edge level officers and experts from specialised fields also gave their suggestions.
The Home Minister assured implementation of proposed solutions with full determination, it stated.
