New Delhi: In a surprising incident, the Nationalist Congress Party MLA Saroj Babulal Ahire arrived with her newborn baby today at the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha to attend the winter session in Nagpur. The MLA from Nasik, Saroj Ahire reached the assembly holding her two-and-a-half-month-old child, in her hands.

She became a mother earlier this year in September.

Before attending the session, the NCP MLA said that though she is a mother now, she is attending the winter session to seek answers for her voters.

"For past 2.5 yrs no session was held in Nagpur due to COVID. I'm a mother now but I came to get answers for my voters," she said as quoted by the news agency ANI.

She was accompanied by her husband, Pravin Wagh and her mother-in-law to take care of the infant.

She further said, "There is no proper feeding room or even a creche for the women lawmakers... I feel the government should take note of this and make some arrangements so that legislators can bring their minor children," as quoted by the news agency IANS.

The winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature assembly has started from today.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties on Sunday boycotted the customary tea party in protest against the government of the BJP and the Eknath Shina faction of the Shiv Sena.
