A private bus on Saturday carrying 36 passengers caught fire at Mumbai-Pune expressway near Mumbai in Vadgaon, Maharashtra. All 36 passengers were were evacuated safely in time. Efforts to douse the fire are underway and no casualties have been reported in the incident. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown.





Massive Forest Fire In Uttarakhand Reaches Nainital 


The forest fire in Uttarakhand took an even more severe turn as it has now reached Nainital's High Court colony.


Till now, the fire has destroyed destroyed 33.34 hectares of forest land within 24 hours and around 31 new incidents of forest fires have been reported from various parts of the state.





 


The fire broke out near Nainital district headquarters also affected the traffic movement in the region.


Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami asked the officials in charge to remain on high alert and take necessary measures required to prevent the fire from spreading further by coordinating with other departments.


Besides the forest department employees, army personnel are also involved in dousing the massive fire.


Indian Air Force also helped with the fire extinguishing operation, using MI-17 helicopter to spray water. 






CM Dhami commented on the raging forest fires on Saturday saying,"The forest fires are a challenge for us. This is a big fire. We are working for all the essential needs. We have asked for help from the Army.I am going to conduct a meeting in Haldwani today. We have conducted a meeting in Dehradun also regarding this. We will try to control the fire as soon as possible."
