Following a directive from the Union Home Ministry, Mumbai Police had registered a case against an unidentified Twitter user on Tuesday.
Speaking to ABP News about the arrest, Priyanka thanked the Mumbai an Delhi Police teams. " I want to thank Mumbai and Delhi Police teas for working proactively in the case. Also, thank Rajnath Singh for expediting the process. I am hoping this becomes a watertight case so that no one dares to threaten women or children in the future in this manner."
The case was registered against an unidentified person who uses the Twitter handle '@GirishK1605' after Chaturvedi approached police with a complaint yesterday, he said.
"Goregaon police have registered an offence under section 509 (word, gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC as well as relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Deoraj was quoted by news agency PTI two days ago.
