Several infants and a 78-year-old passenger developed breathing problem on a Mauritius-bound flight in Mumbai in the early hours of Saturday morning, reported news agency ANI. The breathing problem developed after air conditioners onboard flight MK749 of Air Mauritius were not working.
The flight was scheduled to depart at 4:30 am on Saturday and the passengers boarded at 3:45 am onwards but the aircraft developed an engine problem, the news agency reported quoting a passenger onboard the flight as saying.
The passengers remained inside the plane for more than five hours and were not allowed to disembark, the passenger told ANI, adding that the flight has now been cancelled and other necessary arrangements are being made.
The 78-year-old passenger has been identified as Banudatt Boolauky, the ANI report added.
