Aditya-L1 Decodes Sun's Fury: PAPA Payload Finds How Explosions Affect Solar Winds And Unravels Other Secrets
ISRO has released two graphs which show the variations of total electron and ion counts in solar winds with time. Both the graphs have been made using data collected by PAPA.
Aditya-L1's PAPA (Plasma Analyser Package for Aditya) payload has decoded the Sun's wrath by unravelling secrets about how explosions of magnetic fields and plasma from the Sun's outer surface, known as coronal mass ejections, affect solar winds and other phenomena. PAPA, whose aim is to understand solar winds, solar wind ions, and their composition, analyse particles and energies, and study electrons and heavier ions in solar winds in different directions, has been operational since December
