Mumbai: Air India is in the news for the second time in a row. Last week its flight to Dubai had a miraculous escape when their aircraft's wheels hit a perimeter wall during takeoff in Tiruchirappalli. This time around, one of its senor air-hostesses suffered serious injuries as she fell from the aircraft while shutting its door on Monday.

The unfortunate incident took place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when Air India's New Delhi-bound flight AI 864 was getting ready for departure.  The 53-year-old airhostess reportedly suffered injuries on her legs and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parel for treatment.

The airline termed the incident as "unfortunate" and said that it was investigating into it.

"In an unfortunate incident, one of our cabin crew (members), Harsha Lobo, fell down on the tarmac from the Boeing-777 aircraft door while closing it," the airline said in a statement.
