Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With over a month left for assembly elections in the state, a video has surfaced that has landed the Congress party in a spot of embarrassment. Congress MLA Jitu Patwari, in a door-to-door campaigning in Indore, was heard telling a family "Aapko meri izzat rakhni hai, Party gayi tel lene." (Dump the party; just take care of my reputation). The conversation between him and an elderly couple at the latter’s residence was caught on cameras and has gone viral.

The comment against his own party comes at a time when the Congress party is seeing its prospects brighter to win the elections and prevent the BJP from coming to power for the fourth time in a row.

Jitendra Patwari also known as Jitu Patwari became an MLA in 2013. He holds the Secretary position in the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee. He was recently appointed the media panelist by the Congress party. He was ex-President also of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress. He is said to be close to Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

The viral video also comes in the backdrop of the Congress party alleging that the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh was misusing public money by hiring a private firm to run the latter's election campaign on social media.

Madhya Pradesh goes to polls on November 28 and votes will be counted on December 11.
